Dr. James Foster was a scientist during the early stages of the undead apocalypse.
Biography[]
Weeks after the events of "Night of the Living Dead" the dead continue to rise. As a result of the rapid spread, society begins to collapse. In the WGON TV station in Philidelphia, some of the station crew have stayed to broadcast an interview, while announcing rescue stations for civilians to flock to. The rest of the crew becomes chaotic or even leaves early to escape the growing epidemic. While all that is going on, Dr. Foster is being interviewed by Sidney Berman explaining the events and warning him and the people watching at home of what's happening. The interview gets heated, as Berman expresses disbelieve what is happening, while Foster pleads. He explains in the simplest terms that every dead body that hasn't been destroyed will rise, kill living people and repeating the cycle. Foster also explains that to destroy them, the people must destroy the brain or decapitate the ghoul. He further explains that they kill in order to feast the flesh on the living victim. As the chaos in the station gets worse and worse, with the exception of an interruption regarding the stations being out of date, they continue the interview. Ending it, with an announcement that a martial law is in effect, where the National Guard demands that the people in Philidelphia and all the major cities in the United States, must hand over their recently deceased for proper extermination.
It is unknown what happened to Dr. Foster when the crisis eventually collapsed society.
